Our Fun Time at Pirates Voyage in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Written by: Sarah Robinette

I am so excited we finally got the chance to go to Pirates Voyage in Pigeon Forge. My kids love to dress up as pirates all the time so we knew they would be excited to see this show. We also let them wear their pirates costumes to the show.

We arrived almost an hour early to get our tickets. I thought we were going to be way too early but it was already packed full of people. We had a long line to wait in to get a photo taken before the show. After our photo was taken of the whole family, then the kids, we got to go inside the building and wait.

Once we were inside, They had a full bar full of drinks to grab before the show starts as well as a full gift shop. They also have a small sing along you can do with the pirates while you wait. We explored the gift shop and went to the bathroom before the doors opened.

The gift shop had t-shirts, hats, magnets, toys, swords, games and all kinds of pirate and mermaid theme.  If you don’t want to shop they did have lots of seating to wait for the door to open. They opened 25 mins before the show started and we all made our way to our appointed seats.

Once we got to our seats, the kids loved the set, all the props and huge ship. We couldn’t wait for the show to begin. We had sweet tea or Pepsi products to choose from for our drinks. Our waitress was super friendly. They offered us a booster seat or high chair if needed for my youngest and made sure to answer all our questions.

We sat in a long row of people, so you may be sitting with strangers, well the end person may sit next to someone they don’t know. The waitress has lots of people they are serving all at once. They work so hard running up and down the stairs with big trays of food.

As we are waiting for our drinks to be filled they have pirates out front who have parrots flying around the arena and then they go back to land on the pirate. They are hyping up the crowd and the kids are already excited for it to begin. They also explain to us we are on teams. It’s Crimson or Sapphire Team. We will be having some competition towards the end of the show and at this time, they are choosing who would like to participate in that part of the show.

As the show is starting to begin then the food starts to come out. I feel like we were eating the whole time we were there. They started with soup and a biscuit. The soup is my absolute FAVORITE! It was so creamy. You don’t have spoons but just sip it out of a cup and definitely try dipping your bread in it. YUM

The show is full of acrobats, the seals performing which was a favorite for many. They did some big diving into the water that was impressive. Some parts of it was a little loud and my 3 year old didn’t like some of the “gun shots” or dark parts but overall he did love the show.

As we get done with our appetizers, our waiter walked around and picked it all up and then we were onto the main course!

Fried Chicken, Ham, corn on the cob and potatoes were served for the main course. It was a lot of food for sure!! All delicious!

The main part of the show is going on while you eat. They did come out to our seats and show is our photos we took earlier when we arrived while the show was going on.

If you didn’t finish some food, they did give you some to go boxes to take home which I thought was great!

Be sure to bring cash to tip your servers. They work super hard and sometimes work 3-4 shows a day!

The show lasted about 90 mins. We went to the 8:30 show and arrived at 7:30 and left at 10:00.
