Best Friend Bucket List Ideas

Written by: Sarah Robinette

No matter the age! Having a Best Friend is so important! Having someone you can talk and relate to is the best! We all need to be intentional with our friends and carve out some quality time for them. It is also good for you as well. Here are some ideas you can do with your best friend!

Have a Sleepover

We all have had fun sleepovers with our friends growing up but when we get older, life gets in the way, and we don’t get to have them anymore. How fun would it be to have one now that you are an adult? Kick the husbands out and have a fun girl’s night with no kids either. You can stay up super late and then sleep in. You have so many things you & friends can do… nails, watch movies, have an at home spa night with face masks, talk, play games, be silly and make up dances, have a photo shoot! All the junk food that you don’t have to hide from your kids! Relive your childhood as an adult!

Go on a Road Trip

Is there somewhere you have been wanting to go that isn’t too far away? Go on a fun road trip together and jam to some music, eat snacks, talk and explore the area together. Spend one night at a hotel together and have a fun kid and husband free night!

Have a Photo Shoot

So your best friends but do you ever take more than selfies together? Go somewhere fun, set up a tripod and take some fun photos together. The best part is you can go shopping together to get ready for the shoot or wear each other’s clothes for fun! You could also be real bougie and hire a photographer to go out with you guys! They will get some great shots for you with some great ideas as well.

Have a Spa Day

You can go to a real spa and get some facials and massages together or get some fun things from Ulta, Sephora, Walgreens, or Walmart and just do it at home. Most any store sells face masks or press on nails. At home spa products have come a long way so do some research and have fun together!

Shopping Spree

You can just go to different stores together and look around or you can have fun with it.

  • Give each other a set amount of money to spend and set amount of time to spend it! If they don’t spend it then it goes to the other person. This will help you make quick decisions and actually buy something.
  • Buy for each other. Split up and buy something you think each other would like. Keep it hidden till you go somewhere else to exchange the gift

Stay up all night

We are moms here on this site so staying up late is usually something I don’t do because my kids have me up so early. I haven’t stayed up having fun in many years. Make this a goal with your friend to stay out and up late doing fun things! Just make sure you can sleep in the next day!!

Go On a Double Date

If you and your BFF both have boyfriends or husbands, go out somewhere together. There is so much you can do as a group.

Have a Dance Party

You two can go out dancing at a club or bring it to your house. Make an epic play list, make it dark and get some fun flashing lights and have a party!

Help Each Other Decorate or clean

No matter the age, you can always help your friend out at home. My best friend has always came over to help me pack my house for moving and then helped us by unpacking the house. If not moving, having your friend come over to catch up on laundry, cleaning the bathroom, or just organizing the closet can be a huge help.

Be Each Other’s Maid of Honor

Being the maid of honor in your best friend’s wedding is always so special. You get all kinds of fun responsibilities to help take some stress off the bride. Plan the bachelorette party.

Write a letter to each other to be opened at a later date

This is something you can do at any time in your life with your best friend. Write a letter to them telling them how special they are to you, what you hope for them in the future and your favorite memory. Set it to have them open it in a year, 5 years or maybe on a special occasion.

Have matching jewelry, t-shirts or Halloween Costumes

There is so much out there that you can match with your BFF. Shirts, Jewelry such as BFF necklaces or bracelets, you can even go in together and wear matching Halloween costumes.

Give each other fun makeovers

When I was little, I loved to do this with my friends. We did each other’s hair, makeup, nails and then took fun photos. It was so much fun!

Make a Scrapbook of your friendship

Do you guys have a ton of photos together and memories. Making a scrapbook with real photos and stickers is a lot of fun but making them online through Shutterfly is even better. You can write out all your memories together if you don’t have the photos. Make fun collages with each event you have done together. The best part is you can order a book for each other and have copies. Do this every year to be a fun annual thing.

Do Karaoke Together

If you can’t sing that makes it even better! Going out to a karaoke bar, piano bar or doing it at home makes for some good laughs and memories. Youtube has lots of songs you can do if you don’t know the words to!

Face Your Fear Together

Are you terrified of heights, spiders, a rollercoaster or some extreme activity? Facing your fear with your BFF would help you get the confidence you need to do it.

Go to your favorite concert together

Is there a band coming to town that you both LOVE? Get tickets and go see them together! Rock out to their music together and have fun!

Make a fun TikTok Dance Together

There is always some kind of dance that is or was trending that you know you and your BFF can do. Have fun with it and be silly

Go on a Girls Only Trip

No boys or kids allowed! Take a day trip, cruise or weekend trip with your Best Friend. We all need some time to do girly things with our friends. You can relax or just explore your new location,

Have a secret handshake

I had a fun handshake with lots of my friends when I was little and once you grow up it seems like we stop doing silly things but making up something fun with your friend brings back closeness and your childhood. How fun would it be to greet or leave each other by a fun handshake.

Go Dress Shopping together

Dress shopping for prom, a dance, your wedding, special event, or even for Easter is a lot of fun but stressful when you go alone. You want honest opinions so bringing your BFF to tell you the truth is what we all need.

Start a business together

Are you both good at making jewelry, t-shirts, blogging, photography or crafts together? If you both have the same passion for something, maybe consider going into business together. It can be a fun hobby at first but who knows what it can lead to.

Have a joint yard sale

We all need to get rid of stuff so having a yard sale together will help your sale be bigger and motivate you more to get it done. Help each other by getting it together and it will make the sale day go by quicker.

Be Pregnant the same time

This is always a goal to have your babies close together in age. If it’s not the right time for one of you, don’t get discouraged. You can be your best friend’s hype girl by planning the shower, decorating the nursery, and shopping for the new baby! Yay!! You get to be the fun aunt!
