Azul Mexican Cantina just opened at the Mountain Mile in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. This restaurant serves Tex Mex style food with their own twists on wood fire grilled methods just like the traditional Mexican restaurants.
They are located at 2655 Teaster Blvd. in Pigeon Forge. There is plenty of parking when you arrive and if you do have a wait, there is plenty to do while waiting on your table such as playing corn hole, yard games or checking out some shops at the Mountain Mile.
They do offer online reservations which is very hard to find when you come to Pigeon Forge. just go on their website and reserve a time for your party. They accept all sizes.
They have indoor seating, an outdoor patio and a rooftop bar upstairs that has a stunning view of the mountains and the large Island Ferris Wheel for your back drop.
When you walk into the restaurant you are in awe of all the beautiful paintings all over the place. It definitely doesn’t look like your traditional Mexican restaurant. They even have a mural of Dolly Parton. It is all beautiful and a great place to take some cute photos!
They do not give you free chips and salsa when you arrive like at most local Mexican restaurants, it is $4.99 for that. We did buy chips and salsa and it was good. No refills as well. I was a little bummed about that because I love to eat chips and salsa
We are a family of 4 and I ordered Arroz Con Pollo and my husband got the Polo Fondito. Neither one of us was that impressed with the food or taste of everything. I guess we are not a fan of the wood fired grilled meat they offer. Our kids are small and don’t eat much so we were going to have them split a meal. They got the Quesadilla. It was a good size and plenty of food for them to share. Their kids meals are $7.99 and it includes a soda. My kids don’t drink soda but they did have something else they could enjoy. I believe they got a milk.
We don’t drink so didn’t order anything from the bar but they do offer all kinds of dinks such as Cocktails, Margaritas, Tequila, Whiskey, Vodka, Wine, Gin, and Beer draft and can bottles as well.
The service was good overall but it did take awhile to get our food so good thing we ordered the chips and salsa.
It was honestly very pricy and expensive. The food was just ok. What I think I loved the most was the beautiful atmosphere, roof top bar with the view of the island and the fact they take reservations. If I was to go back I would just enjoy an appetizer so I don’t spend a fortune like we did.
