Hello Friends! We are Sarah and Stephanie. We are local moms who lives in the Smoky Mountains. We are also parents and as parents, we all can find it hard to get some time with our spouse to have date night!
Even if you aren’t married and came across this blog post and looking for something to do with your loved one, here are some ideas for you. All these ideas are to help you get inspired and motivated to get out of the house and find something fun to do and start bonding again with your loved one.
Sky Lounge and Seasons 101 in Downtown Sevierville
Go have a nice dinner at Seasons 101 They have some delicious food at their high end restaurant then afterwards enjoy some drinks at their rooftop bar at the Sky Lounge.
Go On a Picnic
Pack a romantic picnic with blankets, pillows and some delicious food that’s either homemade or order some take out and eat out at the many picnic spots in the Smoky Mountains.
Go to The Island
The Island in Pigeon Forge is a great place for date night. There are lots of places to eat, you can ride the ferris wheel and other rides, then go shopping and then relax by watching the water show.
Waterpark
Have a waterpark day and relax together or swim and reconnect with each other and have fun!
There are actually 7 water parks in the Smoky Mountain area. We all know about Splash Country, and Soaky Mountain but if you don’t have your room booked yet consider these resorts and you can use their water park. Wild Bear Falls, Wilderness of The Smokies, Country Cascades, Music Road Resort or The Resort at Governor’s Crossing
Play Mini Golf
We have so many places to play putt putt out here in the Smoky Mountains. Our personal favorites are Toy Box, Hillbilly Golf, and Crave Golf are unique and different.
See a Movie
We have 2 movie theaters here in the Smoky Mountains. The Forge Cinema has new movies for $5. The seats don’t recline but a great place to have a cheap and fun movie night or the newest movie theater also has new movies at Governor’s Crossing
Drive around The Mountains
Going for a drive around the mountains is a fun and relaxing. To make it even more fun you could rent a fun car such as an ATV or Jeep. You can drive through Cades Cove, Foothills Parkway. The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail or up to Clingman’s Dome.
Watch a Show
There are so many different kinds of shows you can catch such as magic shows, dinner shows, or shows with singing and dancing. Either show you pick, you will have a great time doing something new together.
Go Hiking
There are so many different kinds of hikes to choose from that last several hours or quick hikes. You can see mountain views or waterfalls. I personally love Grotto Falls Trail. It has been renovated recently and is a beautiful waterfall to walk behind.
Horseback Riding
This would be so much fun to do on a date. Go horseback riding through the woods and go on a little tour. You can do this at Cades Cove, Five Oaks Riding Stables or Big Rock Dude Ranch. There are lots of places to choose from.
Wine Tasting
This is for people 21 and over! There are a few places in the area you could do a wine tasting but they also off wine tasting tours. You could go VIP style and they can drive you to the different locations or you can do a self guided tour and at your own pace and leisure go to different wineries and try the different wines and hard cider places. Go online and you can download your passport or they can give you one and have fun trying some new flavors.
Have a Photo Session
Book a mini session or a full session for a fun date night! Your photographer can help you pick some fun locations in the area or pick somewhere that has special meaning to you can give you good memories. You get to have fun. laugh and kiss and keep the memories forever!
Go Zipling
Face your fears together and go zip lining! The Smoky Mountains has so many places to choose from to go zip through the mountains. Pick a place that lets you have fun and has great guides and reviews! This will be a date you will always remember!
Ride the Zorb
Go ride a Zorb and bond like never before while being in a huge inflatable ball while rolling down a hill doing twists and turns. You can plan to do this in the warm and cooler months, they add water in it to make it even more fun. and so you don’t do flips but simply slide around in the ball. In the cooler months the water is nice and warm for you to enjoy so bring your swimsuits.
Do an Escape Game
Gather some friends and have a double date and do an Escape Room together. There are so many different kinds to choose from but all of them are the same idea. You are in a locked room with tons of clues that all work together. Try to solve the riddles and find the keys to get you out of the room in under an hour.
Go out for Ice Cream
We love to go to get ice cream pretty much no matter the season but here are some places you can check out in the area. Cruze Farms, Mad Dog Creamery or get a super tall and delicious milkshake from The Crazy Mason Milkshake.
Go Ice Skating
Head over to Ober Gatlinburg and go ice skating. Once you have done that you can explore the area by getting dinner, riding a chairlift or exploring all the things Ober offers.
Go To a Petting Zoo
We love going to Deer Farm Petting Zoo. They have so many different kinds of animals to pet and see such as petting deer, sheep and goats but also see camels, horses and zebra’s. You can spend a few hours here and don’t forget to get a bucket to feed the animals.
Go To Dollywood
Dollywood is the perfect place for a fun date. There is so much to do together. We all know they have amazing rollercoasters and rides but go and get a fun tasting pass and eat some yummy food, go shopping and see some shows together.
Have Dinner at The Greenbriar Restaurant
Go have a fancy meal at an upscale restaurant in the area called Greenbriar Restaurant. They serve lots of classy food such as Duck, Goat Cheese, Steak and Seafood. They also home to the Greenbrier Whiskey Society and the Greenbrier Women of Wine. This is where they offer exclusive opportunities to taste the most sought after whiskeys, bourbons and wines on the market.
Have Fondu
You can have your own fondu night at home or go out to the Melting Pot and have some apps, entrees and desert all my fondu style.
Have a Game Night
If you have a cabin, maybe play some board games together or plan ahead and bring your favorites that you don’t get to play very often. If you are not into board games then turn it into a video game night and play together and against each other.
Do a Rope Course
There are some fun ropes courses at The Island that will make it super fun to help each other tackle the course. Be each other’s hype person and help each other conquer the course!
Rent a Boat and Go on the Lake
If it is warm and it’s in season, you can rent a boat, jet ski or kayak and go out on Douglas Lake. If it isn’t summer then be sure to rent a small cabin from Creekside Hideaway and they have these super cute Hot Tug Boats you can rent and relax in the “Hot Tub” while in a boat! Now that is romantic and so relaxing.
Go to a Trampoline Park
Be a kid again and go out to the Trampoline Park and Jump and have some fun! They have Ninja Courses, Climbing Walls and Air Bags to jump into. Check out Top Jump or Sevier Air in the area.
Try a New Restaurant
There are so many local mom and pop restaurants in the area, I know you haven’t been to all of them. Pick a new restaurant and have a nice dinner out.
Go Axe Throwing
Go try something new and throw axes together and have a fun competition together.
Helicopter Tour
The Smoky Mountains is beautiful all year long so do something different and super fun and take a helicopter tour! You can take a variety of rides with different packages to choose from.
Go To Anakeesta
Anakeesta is a perfect place to have a date. You can ride the chair lift to the top, grab some dinner with a gorgeous view of the mountains while talking. Then walk the treetop sky walk Bridge, Go to the Top of the Anavista Tower. They have some fun rope courses as well as food trucks around. If you want to pay extra they also offer zip lining and a mountain coaster. You can also stay late and watch the Astra Lumnight show. Sounds like a perfect night to me!
Aquarium
Go take a stroll together at the Aquarium and look at all the amazing fish, sharks and penguins together. You could do a Glass Bottom Boat ride and touch a stingray. Ripley’s also has lots of combo specials so make it a Ripley’s Date and do a bunch of different activities to get a better deal.
Biking
You can go biking at Ober, Through Cades Cove and do some extreme biking at Wildside
Go Carts
Do some go cart riding while in Pigeon Forge. There are lots of places you can do this since we have so many. We like to go to Nascar Speedpark or The Track in Pigeon Forge.
Gamble
Drive over to Cherokee and go explore Harris Casino. You could stay a night there, explore the area, enjoy the spa or also see a concert.
Laser Tag
How long has it been since you played Laser Tag? Go and see how well you do by sneaking up on each other and having a fun game!
