Are you coming to the Smokies with your best friend or maybe a group of girls? Maybe this is for a bachelorette party or a kid free weekend? Whatever your reason maybe. I am sure you are looking for things to do while in the Smokies with your girl friends. I have came up with some fun and great ideas to get the wheels turning in your head so you can come up with your own fun ideas.
Rent a Cabin In The Smokies
Getting a cabin in the Smokies needs to be the first thing you book. I would look for a place with a hot tub, maybe a theater and a view. The More fun things you can find in your cabin or hotel, the more fun you guys will have and overall more money you will save because you will have so much to do while just being “home”
The Smokies has so much your stay can have. You can find game rooms, theater rooms, swimming indoor and outdoors, large balconies to sit and chat, full kitchens to cook in, outdoor fire pits, hot tubs, and lots of space so each girl can have her own room.
Watch Movies
Getting a cabin with a theater is like adding in more activities to do for free. There are lots of cabins you can get with theater. Watch old movies or new ones. Bring your own then play games to decide who’s movie you get to watch.
Go Shopping
Pigeon Forge has lots of places you can spend hours of fun. We all know about Tanger Outlets, but there are some fun antique shops in the area, or explore downtown Gatlinburg shops, the mountain mile, The Island Shops or take a day trip to Asheville or Knoxville.
Painting and Sip
Looking to make a beautiful painting and sip on some wine? Maybe try booking a session with Brushes and Brew. For around $30 a person you can learn how to paint a beautiful art piece. Your welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks
Board and Brush
Maybe you girls would be interested in learning how to create your own wooden sign. Most if not all their projects cost around $75 and takes around 3 hours to complete. We did this as a fun girls night and had so much fun. The owner was so sweet and made sure we loved our project before we left. Have a Mani Pedi/ At Home Face Mask Night
You don’t have to get out to go to the Spa. You can have a fun night staying in and doing your own nails, pedicures, face masks and even tanning. Grab some press on Nails from Red Aspen and you can make your own beautiful and unique mani mixup with your girlfriends. If you apply them correctly, you can wear them for up to 14 days. They even have some fun face masks for all different types.
Go To The Spa
Maybe you girls need some relaxation and want to get out and go to the spa for a massage or facial. There are several places in the area that would be a great place to get pampered
We love Oak Haven Spa, The Margaritaville Spa, The Spa at Riverstone Lodge or Dollywood’s Dream More Resort and Spa.
Do Each Other’s Make Up and Have a Photo Shoot
As a Kid, We all loved to to do each other’s makeup, hair, try on each other’s clothes. Why stop once you are an adult. Buy a simple backdrop and bring it with you, bring a tri pod, and have fun! Who knows, you might have a great headshot for your business, or facebook profile. Either way you will have lots of photos from your weekend and memories as well.

Have a Baking Competition
Are you girls good at making cookies? Cake? Appetizers? Entrees? Maybe you can each make your own way of making something then video each person, showing why their food is the best then throw up a poll on Instagram or Facebook and have your friends vote. The winner can choose where you eat, choose tomorrow’s movie, or gets some kind of gift card. You girls can still enjoy the food.
Go To Dollywood
Dollywood is super fun with your friends. You can of course ride some thrilling rides, watch some shows, eat lots of yummy food and make a ton of memories. This could easily be a full day event.
Hang Out In The Sun All Day at a Water Park
There are actually 7 water parks in the Smoky Mountain area. We all know about Splash Country, and Soaky Mountain but if you don’t have your room booked yet consider these resorts and you can use their water park. Wild Bear Falls, Wilderness of The Smokies, Country Cascades, Music Road Resort or The Resort at Governor’s Crossing
Create a hashtag from your weekend together
If you know anything about Instagram, X, or even Facebook. Hashtags are a great way to be sure to see everyone’s post even if you went with a large group and not everyone is friends with each other on social media. Making your own hashtag is also just something fun to come up with
Stay Up All Night
How long has it been since you stayed up all night? See How long you girls can stay up then enjoy being lazy the next maybe sleeping in.
Go On A Wine Tasting Tour
Are you girls into Wine? If so you can on a Wine Tasting Tour in Pigeon Forge. Hang out with the girls and stop by several winery’s and get some samples, they also have moonshine tasting as well.
Get Airbrush T-Shirts
Did you know that Airbrush t-shirts use to be a huge thing out in Gatlinburg. They are very cool to watch being made. It makes for a great and fun souvenir. Get matching ones as well!
Play Board Games
Some cabins come with board games or simply ask your friends to bring their favorite game they want to play. You might come across some fun new games you will want to play again
Create Your Own Cocktails
Go by the liquor store or grocery store and pick up whatever you need to make your own version of cocktail. Have each person to make their own and then vote who has the best one!
Wear Matching PJs Or Outfits
Get on Amazon or Etsy and order matching shirts. If the group is not into that idea, maybe order some matching PJs and take some fun and cute photos while in the cabin
Try a New Restaurant
Even if you have been to the Smokies for many years, I know there are a few restaurants you have never tried. Have everyone to put their ideas in a hat or have some kind of fun game and the winner gets to choose the place you eat.
Hire a Personal Chef
YES! You can be all bougee and hire a professional chef to come to your cabin and serve you a private meal. Just search into google Private chef in Pigeon Forge and there are several that come up
Go Gambling
Now, you can’t be in Tennessee to do this, but you can travel to Cherokee NC or Bristol VA which is approx an hour or 2 drive and go to Harrah’s Casino or Bristol’s Hard Rock Casino in Virginia, which is around 1 hour and 45 mins. Check out their website and maybe they might have a great concert at the resort as well.
Have a Movie Marathon
This is something that you can easily turn on and watch while you do your nails, snack on popcorn, or just a way to relax and end your night
Make up a Dance for TikTok or Reels
This is fun no matter how old you are. TikTok always has some fun trending dance that anyone can do. Save your favorites and share with the group. You will make so many fun memories that you will want to make more than one video.
Sleep Outside
This would be fun if you had a large deck, nice weather and a clear sky. Just grab some air mattresses and sleep under the stars.
Create a Scavenger Hunt
This is something you can maybe find through Etsy. They have Mall Scavenger Hunts, Cabin Scavenger Hunts almost any theme.
Go on A Hike
We have so many hikes for you to choose from. Grotto Falls is beautiful and you can walk behind the waterfall.
Go To Anakeesta
Anakeesta is a lot of fun. Ride the chair lift to the top and then walk around to some food trucks and eat with a gorgeous view of the mountains. You can walk to see some great 360 views of the Smoky Mountains at AnaVista Tower and then walk the Tree Top Sky Walk and stay late for the Astra Lumina show!
See A Show
There are so many shows you can see such as Dinner Shows, Magic Shows, Singing Shows. We love Pirates, Stampede and Hatfield and McCoy
Rent a fun car and Drive around
You can find ATVs and Jeeps to make your vacation even more enjoyable. You can rent them for a few hours or half the day. Take some scenic drives and enjoy your time together. Pink Jeep Tours will drive for you on some beautiful trails and then even do a fun off road adventure.
Explore The Island
The Island is a fun place to spend a few hours. You can go eat at Timberwood Grill for dinner, The Island Daiquiri for drinks, walk around the shops and watch the water show, ride some rides and maybe do the Sky Flyer Ride.
Go to a Fun Attraction
There are so many fun attractions you can go to with the girls and have a blast such as Beyond The Lens, Hollywood Wax Museum, Alpine Sides, Laser Tag, Putt Putt there is so much!
